Andersen Advantage

Normal dual-pane glass allows 62% of UV light pass through.  Andersen's High-Performance Low-E glass cuts that down to 17% with virtually no effect on the clarity and color of the light.

With Low-E glass, a thermostat set at 70°, will not have the temperature of the innermost glass pane won't drop below 57° even if it's 0° outside. In warm climates, Low-E glass works just as hard to keep your home cool. For extreme climates, Andersen also offers High-Performance Sun™ glass for maximum UV protection and temperature control.

All Andersen windows feature the Perma-Shield system, which protects the window's exterior beauty for decades. Andersen windows eliminates the need to paint and repaint.

The materials used to make a frame determines a window's thinkness, weight, and durability, and it also has a major impact on its thermal characteristics. The frame is also used in determining a window's U-Factor. Since the sash and frame represent from 10 to 30 percent of the total area of the window unit, the frame material will definitely influence the window performance.

Wood-Clad
Andersen believes that windows should be made of wood, but exterior facings should be protected from the elements. That's why they manufacture wood-clad windows with vinyl exteriors. These windows offer beauty, luxury and natural appeal while maintaining high standards of weather resistance with an extra surface that lowers their maintenance requirements. The interior wood allos you to retain an attractive paint or stain finish indoors.

TruScene Insect Screens
With 50% more clarity than our conventional insect screens, new TruScene insect screens are virtually invisible, so the view from your windows is as clear as all outdoors. And since they practically disappear in your windows, they don't detract from the beauty of your home.

Solid Wood Construction
Andersen window wood interiors feature superb styling, with no visible finger joint seams. Natural wood provides structural stability and is one of the most effective insulators avaliable. For added reliability we treat the frame and sash parts with a wood preservative.

Andersen interiors bring warmth into your home as well as style with rich natural wood that you can stain or paint to enhance the decor of any room. Fine craftmanship, elegant styling and precise detailing make the view of your windows as impressive as the view from them.

Energy Efficiency
Andersen publishes stardard energy-efficiency performance ratings on all of their products - ratings that are consistently among the best in the industry. Homes with Andersen windows can dramatically help reduce their heating and cooling costs. These guidelines are based on the heat gain and loss of each product in various regions of the country.

The best way to compare energy efficiency on Andersen windows is to look at their NFRC labels. Any window worth investing in will have one displayed.

Transferable Limited Warranty
All windows & doors are covered by Andersen's exclusive Owner2Owner limited warranty. Most other window warranties end when a home is sold, but Andersen's coverage - 20 years on glass, and non-glass parts - is completely transferable from each owner to the next. And, because it is not prorated, the coverage offers full benefits, year after year, owner after owner, so it can add real value when you decide to sell your home. Plus, Andersen has one of the largest service networks in the industry, so help is always there if you need it.

Longevity
Andersen expects their products to live well past their warranty period. But kids still throw baseballs and even the most durable materials can wear out eventually. That's why we can provide replacement parts for Andersen windows and doors, even some that were discontinued 50 years ago.

Window & Door Testing
To ensure that Andersen windows and doors last, they are tested throughly in the lab and in the field to measure endurance. Some windows are exposed to wind speeds up to 155 MPH, while other windows face sudden temperature changes from -20°F to 180°F.
